CITY & COUNTRY TOUR

Drive through old romantic Nassau and environs to see our ancient Fort Charlotte with its pirate lore. Enjoy the government buildings of Parliament Square, constructed in 1815, these buildings are excellent examples of colonial architecture. The Houses of Assembly, the old Colonial Secretary’s Office and the Supreme Court are clustered around a statue of Queen Victoria.

Take a snapshot of Government House, the official residence of the Queen’s personal representative, the Governor General, with its statue of Christopher Columbus in the foreground. Picturesque Gregory’s Arch, the old prison, the unique native straw market and scores of other historic sites in the centuries-old capital of The Bahamas await you during this informative 2.5 hour tour of our capital.

CLIFTON HERITAGE NATIONAL PARK

An experience you must not miss while in Nassau. A sumptuously genuine journey into the heart and soul of Bahamian History, that portion of Bahamian Heritage when our many plantations dotted our landscapes.

Additionally, enjoy our three gorgeous white sand beaches, unparalleled natural snorkeling areas, crystal clear water, miles of ecologically diverse coastline, scenic wetlands, archaeological/cultural ruins, food, eco trails, native flora and fauna. All in one place! Clifton Heritage National Park.

Your adventure begins when you board a bus for a 40 minute narrated scenic tour en-route to the Clifton Heritage Park. When you arrive at Clifton Plantation, grab your complimentary rum/virgin punch. You will see the 18th century ruins of Whylly Plantation, which stands on land first inhabited by the original native Bahamians, the Lucayan Indians some one thousand years ago. While at the Heritage Park you may go on a guided tour of the entire facility. Get an in-depth look at what life was like on the plantation nearly 2 centuries ago. You may also take an ecological tour of the area to see the types of vegetation and wildlife that are native to the area.

Enjoy the beach area with snorkeling available. This will be done at your own risk and is not included in the main tour. Lunch is served under a shaded pavilion, or on the beach where friendly staff will bring you a scrumptious Bahamian meal. After eating you may wish to stroll through our mini zoo that includes many of the animals that once inhabited the Clifton plantation. At the end of an exciting day your bus will return you to your hotel.

EXUMA ESCAPES SWIMMING PIGS

Cast off to Big Major Cay, home of the World Famous Swimming Pigs

Your journey will take you 100 miles offshore into the depths of tranquillity, excitement and overwhelming adventure. You will experience extreme wildlife interaction, by feeding the Rock Iguanas, swimming with the pigs at Big Major Cay (Pig Beach) and if you dare, swim with the Sharks at Compass Cay. Walk on a shifting sand bar in crystal clear turquoise water and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

After feeding the pigs, we feed the Iguanas at Allen’s Cay, prior to departing for Nassau.

Primeval Forest National Park

Remarkably undisturbed, this old-growth woodland is representative of the early evergreen tropical hardwood forests of the Bahamas. Located in southwestern New Providence, the area is easily accessible by car. It features dramatic sinkholes – unique limestone caverns up to 50 feet long, 30 feet wide, and in some cases 30 feet deep. The most notable features are accessed by boardwalks, steps and bridges.
